Unreliable witness, these bitches figured it out Your plan was their service What are you gonna do now? I’m surprised you’re nervous You work so hard to be cruel Guess it’s none of my business What they think of you You twist your knives And it ain’t right With the heart and head If the social ladder’s All that matters You won’t make friends You won’t keep friends We won’t be friends Just another narcissist Will ego tire you out? Echoism my purpose What should I have to be now? I’m surprised it’s worth it Working so hard to be cool To always be complicit In what you say is true You wield your lies And it ain’t right With the heart and head If the social ladder’s All that matters You won’t make friends You won’t keep friends We won’t be friends And I know this is my part That I let you in my head And I bet you won’t regret ‘Much as I can remember And I know this is my fault That I let you in my heart And I bet you won’t regret ‘Much as I can remember

Wreckage 03:07
I was lonely, you were amped Thought what we wanted was a little more than friendship Did you care when you wrote me off? Made me crazy to be wrong One plus one can’t have a middle Go ahead, say again, how I’m better off I learned to sing through the quiet Lucky to feel safe in the dark Everything burned but there was an order To be being pulled from the wreckage and to want back in There was chaos, we stayed home And took comfort in the little Heard you when, you said again, that you’re still the boss Be our savior, you’re the man Play both ends against the middle Break the curse, bet on loss, never live the cost We learned to sing through the quiet Lucky, for now, to feel safe in the dark Everything burns but we found the order You get pulled from the wreckage, then you want back in Get pulled from the wreckage but you want back in

Reckoning 03:13
I’ve been thinking about what counts as truth And it’s a shame where logic will lead me to Thinking if I try, you’ll come through But we both know that’s not like you I would like a reckoning How is it you lie and I pretend? Let us solve the mystery How a love like ours could find an end Let me hear your reasoning Come on, help me try to understand Why you cause me misery Was the ending all that you had planned? What you’ve been thinking about is there to see Convince me that the problem is all me How is this all you’ll ever be? Why is it so hard to break free? I would like a reckoning How is it you lie and I pretend? Let us solve the mystery How a love like ours could find an end Let me hear your reasoning Come on, help me try to understand Why you cause me misery Was the ending all that you had planned?

about

Sarah Reynolds is an LA-based indie singer-songwriter and a classically trained vocalist. When classical music opportunities began to dwindle during the pandemic, she rediscovered herself in the pop rock genre that first piqued her interest in singing and writing. An interpreter of other artists' compositions for most of her career, Reynolds’ turn to singer-songwriter was both natural and necessary. Adolescent is her debut EP which showcases commanding vocals, infectious melodies, incisive lyrics, and vulnerable storytelling. Sometimes fiery, other times playful, Adolescent tackles subjects ranging from girl bullies to the patriarchy to the farce of looking for closure after a break-up. These mercurial songs are fun, a little edgy, and will make you want to move. Hints of influences like Fiona Apple, Tori Amos, Liz Phair and 90s-era alternative music aesthetics from Reynolds’ own adolescence are woven into the character of this fresh debut.

Musician and production credits can be found listed under each song.
